Mousasi dominates MacDonald to retain middleweight belt

Gegard Mousasi dominated Rory MacDonald and earned a TKO victory at the 3:23 mark of the second round to retain his middleweight world championship at Bellator 206 on Saturday.

MacDonald remains

Bellator's welterweight champion.

Mousasi came out aggressively in Round 2 after a rather slow opening five minutes of the main event. He got MacDonald to the floor, got into a full mount, and unleashed a flurry of punches on his foe that forced the referee to put a stop to the fight.

It was Mousasi's eighth consecutive victory and he improves to 45-6-2 overall including a perfect record of 3-0 in Bellator. It was MacDonald's first loss since he signed with Bellator and his record falls to 20-5 overall.
